Ever since AI became widely accessible, I’ve found myself worrying about the future of many professionals, especially those in creative fields. Every day, new updates push artificial technologies further, making them capable of things we once thought only humans could do.
One day, during a casual conversation with a client, she said something that stuck with me: “We shouldn’t fear AI. We should walk alongside it and use it to our advantage.” That perspective changed everything for me.
Until then, I had only seen AI tools for generating images where you type a prompt and receive an interpretation of your input, often requiring very precise detail to -maybe- get the desired result. But recently, I came across Whisk, a new tool from Google Labs that allows users to combine multiple images—subject, scene, and style—essentially teaching the AI through visuals instead of just text, though it supports both.
As soon as I understood how Whisk worked, an idea sparked. What if I transformed my favorite photographs into AI-generated, semi-realistic digital paintings with a cinematic aura? Below, you can see the final results of my experiments.

After experimenting with Whisk and generating all this beautiful images I felt inspired to create this short video giving a little more context to the images and telling a story about how inspiring being alive can be and despite of all the highs and lows of life we're all connected at the end of the day.
I absolutely loved the interpretations Whisk made of my photographs. I was particularly drawn to how the AI added people to most of the scenes, something I don't usually incorporate into my own work. This experience has made me excited to start capturing more moments with people in the frame, adding a new dimension to my photography that I hadn’t considered before. The possibilities with AI are endless, and I'm eager to continue growing creatively alongside with this new technology that has come to stay.
