This collage is a visual ode to Antigua, Guatemala, capturing its essence through my own photography. I wanted to showcase the city's most defining elements: the majestic cathedral ruins, the vibrant streets, lush greenery, and the ever-present active volcano Del Fuego. By layering these elements, I aimed to create a dreamlike representation of Antigua where history, nature, and culture merge into a surreal yet familiar scene that MUST be visited by anyone traveling to Guatemala.
BEHIND THE PROJECT
After spending a few days exploring Antigua, I gathered all the photos I had taken and decided to create a digital collage that would capture the essence of this magical town nestled in the mountains of Central America. Once the capital of Guatemala, Antigua lost its status after a series of devastating earthquakes and volcanic events. The scars from the past remain etched in its streets, taking shape in the hauntingly beautiful ruins of cathedrals scattered throughout the town.
