BEHIND THE PROJECT
The idea behind this project was to use one of my photographs to create a compelling backdrop for the ArchitectTalk event poster. This monthly event explores different themes related to architecture, urbanism, and design in each edition.
After selecting the photograph, I mapped out areas for the event details, reserving the top exclusively for the title. The title was set in bold, sans-serif typography to ensure a strong initial impact. The remaining information was placed diagonally, interacting dynamically with the background image, which plays with light and shadow for a striking composition.
Since the event is held online across multiple dates and times, this flexibility was encoded into a QR code positioned in the bottom right corner. Scanning the code gives participants easy access to all necessary details.
As the event took place in October, I leaned into the Halloween season by selecting a dark, moody image. This design choice gives the poster a subtle nod to vintage horror movie posters, drawing attention and sparking curiosity among viewers.
